The Ketso Yoh Centre Men's Hostel provides temporary living facilities for transient men in need.

Consistent with the philosophy of the Prince George Native Friendship Centre, the Ketso Yoh Centre is operated in a manner that respects the individual's human rights.

Fundamental to this is the right of the resident to practice his culture and religion in an atmosphere free from threat - it being our philosophy that understanding one's cultural heritage is requisite if one is to develop as a person to his full potential.

The Ketso Yoh Facility

  • We provide a total of 20 beds daily (365 days a year)
  • 3 meals a day, plus nightly snacks
  • Bedding, towels, shampoo, disposable razor, comb, shaving cream, toothbrush and toothpaste
  • The Hostel follows all standards required by health and fire by-laws
  • We provide an outreach worker (Monday - Friday)
  • We refer clients to outside agencies for assistance
  • We provide a safe and clean environment
  • We have staff on duty 24 hours per day
  • Rules are read to clients upon their arrival

Admission Criteria

  • Day parolees
  • Full parolees
  • Statutory Release (S.T.A.T.)
  • Statutory Release with residency clause
  • Parolee's on the Methadone Program
  • Escorted/Unescorted Temporary Absence (U.T.A.'s)
  • Open to all Parolee's with the exception of those requiring special care beyond the expertise of our staff

Outreach Services

Outreach Services help residents find suitable, affordable, safe living units when they move out on their own. This service is also offered to family and friends of our residents.

Field Trips

Staff and residents go on several trips per year which could include:

  • Fishing
  • Laser Tag
  • Bowling/Pizza night
  • Medicine gathering
  • Day trips to Camp Friendship
