Food Recovery and Food Donations
In partnership with Second Harvest, and Cobb’s Bread, we have been able to recover an ongoing supply of fresh bread and retail food items, for distribution via our Emergency Food Hamper program. We are grateful for the periodic large-scale recoveries, organized by Second Harvest, that have allowed us to facilitate the receipt and distribution of large-scale food rescues, diverting from the commercial food chain viable food items that would otherwise be discarded.
We are deeply grateful to our community partners and local organizations who have come together with generosity and compassion to donate essential food staples. Their collective support strengthens our shared ability to respond to food insecurity and makes it possible for us to stand alongside community members in need, ensuring care, dignity, and nourishment reach those who need it most.
Community organizations wishing to support this work through food donations are welcome to contact the Emergency Resources Coordinator.

Telus Mobility for Good
The Prince George Native Friendship Centre (PGNFC) in partnership with the BC Association of Aboriginal Friendship Centres (BCAAFC) and TELUS, distribute mobile phones to vulnerable Indigenous women and girls who would otherwise not have access to cellular communication. Increasing accessibility to mobile communication is one part of the PGNFC’s strategy to prevent and to educate about violence against Indigenous women and girls to improve their safety through a lens of reconciliation.
Reconciliation is not just a word/a concept, we must have those hard conversations about the pathways to ending gender-based violence and create supports that are safe and respectful of the at-risk situations that many vulnerable and marginalized women and girls find themselves in. The Mobility for Good Program is a tool to provide compassionate and user-friendly cell phone mobility support.
